Dolpo Region Trekking Permit

Trekking in the Dolpo region requires special permits due to its restricted status. Upper Dolpo permits cost USD 500 for the first 10 days, while Lower Dolpo costs USD 20 per week. All trekkers must also obtain a Shey Phoksundo National Park entry permit (NPR 3,000). A licensed guide is mandatory, and permits must be arranged through a registered trekking agency like Nepal New Generation Trek.

The Dolpo region, one of Nepal’s most remote and untouched trekking destinations, is a restricted area that requires special permits for foreign trekkers. Known for its pristine landscapes, ancient Tibetan culture, and the stunning Shey Phoksundo National Park, Dolpo offers a unique and adventurous trekking experience. Due to its sensitive location and limited accessibility, the Government of Nepal has implemented specific permit regulations for both Upper and Lower Dolpo regions.
